Success Stories

Aria

"Aria" was found as a small kitten at our colony and she was quickly TNR'd. She went into foster and became tame overnight! Aria was always a lovebug and wanted to be around people. She just wanted to be loved! This sweet, friendly kitty quickly found her forever home, where she now spends time with new mama, Tylie, & her dog-sister, Sushi!

Nicky (& the Fleetwood Mac girls)

"Nicky" was found, along with her two sisters, Stevie and Rhiannon, at our colony when they were only a few weeks old. The three girls were trapped, spayed, and went up for adoption! Nicky found her home quickly, and her two sisters being "foster fails" where FTLC volunteers kept the two after Nicky was adopted.

These girls' names were inspired by the band Fleetwood Mac! They have all found their forever homes -- Stevie, Rhiannon, & Nicky! You can see Nicky with her sisters below.

Miss Mittens

"Miss Mittens" was one of the first cats TNR'd at our colony. She was friendly from day one! We couldn't stand to see her outside when all she wanted was love and attention.  She went into foster and was adopted through one of our rescue partners.

Eddie

"Eddie" was found at a colony FTLC helps to TNR in Central Phoenix. He showed up one night at the colony, and it was very obvious he was a tame house cat! After looking for an owner to no avail, we realized Eddie was probably dumped or abandoned by his previous owner. We scooped Eddie up, had him neutered, and placed him with our rescue partner, where he was adopted.

Four little kittens...

These four little kittens were found at our colony when they were just a few days old. After dozens of attempts to catch their mama, we finally caught her and were able to foster the babies with their mama until they were weaned. Once weaned from mama kitty, mama was spayed (no more kittens!) and returned to the colony and the four little kittens went to our rescue partner for adoption!

Jack Sparrow

Mr. Jack Sparrow was part of a larger TNR effort in Central Phoenix that FTLC has been working on. When we trapped Jack, we realized his demeanor was friendly and that he had an eye injury. During his neuter surgery, Jack also had his eye removed and taken care of. While recovering in foster, Jack healed up well and his personality came out. He was eventually brought to our rescue partner, where he found his forever home!

Gwen

Gwen was also a TNR kitty found at the same colony as Jack. She was extremely friendly and sweet. After searching for owners and checking for a microchip to no avail, Gwen went to a foster home while she recovered from her spay. Gwen was such a sweet heart, and made friends with dogs and cats alike! She found her forever home through our rescue partner.

Finn

Finn was part of an established TNR colony cared for by FTLC. Finn showed up at the colony one day, and was always very friendly and shy. After he was neutered, we realized Finn was friendly and likely abused. He was covered in scars and wounds, which he received medical treatment for. Once healed, Finn went to our rescue partner, where he was adopted!

3 kittens: Kismet, Captain, & Teacup

Kismet, Captain, & Teacup were found at our colony (Finn's kiddos) – they were very healthy and once they are old enough to be spayed/neutered, they will be up for adoption at Fearless Kitty Rescue in early July 2022!

They are super friendly, people & dog-loving kittens – we are so happy they are off the streets and adopted!

3 kittens: Nova, Aurora, & Arty

Nova, Aurora, & Arty were found in poor condition outside. They were covered in fleas and were very skinny/malnourished. Immediately, we took them in and began caring for them. All three gained weight quickly and recovered very well!

We are so happy they are off the streets and with their new furever families.

Sonny

Sonny & Ricky

Sonny & Ricky were found at one of the TNR colonies we assist in Central Phoenix. Sonny & Ricky were both very friendly and sweet – and extremely playful! They love both people and dogs.

Both kittens were fostered and went to our rescue partner, where they were adopted into loving homes!

Ricky

Kitten Bouquet: Azalea, Chysanthemum, Buttercup, Aster, & Jasmine

The flower litter was found abandoned outside after their mother passed away. They were without food or water for two days!

Immediately, we took them in with one of our fosters.

All of these sweethearts were adopted into loving homes through our rescue partner.

Indigo (aka "Indy")

Indigo was found outside in a parking lot in the scorching Arizona heat. He was panting and covered in fleas, but he was quickly scooped up and brought to one of our fosters. He received medical care and lots of attention while waiting for his forever home. He even made friends with the resident dogs! Indy was adopted through one of our rescue partners.

Kai

Kai was found at one of our TNR colonies that FTLC helps to manage in Central Phoenix. Kai was incredibly friendly and sweet, and we knew he belonged in a home safe from the outdoors. Kai was socialized with one of our amazing fosters and he was eventually adopted through one of our rescue partners.

Carmelo

Carmelo was found at one of the TNR colonies that FTLC helps to manage. He was very lethargic and covered in fleas. Due to this condition, he received immediate veterinary treatment. After he healed up, Carmelo was adopted through one of our rescue partners.

Emma before

Emma

Sweet Emma was abandoned and left behind by her humans, and we have no idea how long she was left alone in a dark, empty apartment. She had no food and no water. Emma was completely emaciated; she was skin and bones.

But Emma had a strong will to live. Emma immediately went to the Emergency Vet to stabilize. Her vets advised feeding her high-calorie food to help her gain some much-needed weight. Emma’s road to recovery was long, but her life mattered to us.

Emma (cont.)

Miss Emma made the trip to Tucson, AZ, where she became a resident kitty at Hearts That Purr Feline Guardians. She received continued medical care and love for the rest of her life.

When she was at Hearts that Purr, Becky and Carolyn (Emma's caretakers) discovered she was likely 20+ years old. She was also diabetic. While For the Love of Cats has a small foster network, we knew that she required more experienced caretaking outside of a traditional shelter setting. Hearts That Purr Feline Guardians was the absolute perfect fit for sweet Emma.

Emma passed peacefully almost a year later with her caretakers at Hearts That Purr in August of 2023.

Shakespeare Litter: Mab, Alice, Puck, Grimalkin, and Titania.

“Though they may be but little— they are fierce.” The beautiful Shakespeare litter came to FTLC and suffered from an upper respiratory infection – causing the kittens to limp and suffer high fevers. They received around-the-clock care from our amazing fosters, and all five kittens recovered well.

Our fosters adopted two from the litter, and the rest of the crew was adopted through our rescue partner!

Cornelius & Cordelia

Sweet Cornelius and Cordelia were found in Central Phoenix at one of the trap-neuter-release colonies that FTLC helps to sterilize. We believe they are siblings, since they look so similar!

Both kitties were eating with the big cats on the street, but once trapped and fixed, we knew these two were way too friendly to release!

Both of these sweethearts gained confidence and received lots of love from their foster families. Eventually, both of them were adopted through our rescue partners!

Brady & Winter

Brady and Winter were found in Central Phoenix at one of the trap-neuter-release colonies that FTLC helps to sterilize. We knew these two sweethearts were too little and too friendly to release back to the colony, so we decided to bring them indoors to start their new lives.

These sweet girls were fostered by FTLC so they could gain confidence before transitioning to their forever families! Eventually, both of them were adopted through our rescue partners!

Hendricks & Harley

Hendricks and Harley are the cutest brothers ever! These two were found while we were performing Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) for a colony of cats in North Phoenix. At first, they were a spicy duo, but they warmed up fast to their foster family. Once their sweet and playful personalities began to come out, we knew these two were ready to find their forever families. Both boys were quickly adopted through one of our rescue partners.

Easter Litter: Mama Arabella + Winnie, Flora, River, Pascal, Jett and Cedar.

The Easter Basket litter and their sweet mama, Arabella.

Mama Arabella and her six adorable kittens were found outside, hiding out behind a hot tub cover. Arabella was the sweetest, most loving mama kitty ever. She was abandoned by her humans, and despite efforts to find her family, no one ever contacted us/claimed her.

There were 3 girls (Winnie, Flora, & River) and 3 boys (Pascal, Jett, and Cedar). All of these cuties, and mama Arabella, went to a foster and each of them found their forever homes through our rescue partners.

The Powerpuff Girls

Mama (“Mojo”) Jojo and her trio of cuddly kittens were discovered taking a nap on some rocks outside, with no owners in sight. They found a safe haven with us at FTLC! Blossom, Bubbles, Buttercup and Mama Jojo all went to foster, where Mama Jojo could rest and nurse her kittens in a calm environment.

All of these sweethearts gained confidence and received lots of love from their foster families. Eventually, all four of them were adopted through our rescue partners!

The "Penguins of Madagascar Litter"

The "Penguins of Madagascar” litter were being taken care of by an elderly woman in an established outdoor cat colony. All four kittens were boys, and they were super friendly and needed a forever home. So, of course, we quickly said “yes” to helping them on their journey!

Sadly, they were quickly diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection (URI). Our team stepped in and nursed him back to health— providing around-the-clock care, administering subcutaneous fluids at home, and keeping a close eye on his brothers.

Thanks to our teams’ incredible determination and care, the boys regained their health and were all adopted through our rescue partner.

Quinn

Quinn's journey, like many of our street kitties, started with uncertainty. She was found outside, alone, with no mama cat or siblings around. Thankfully, her finder brought her to us so she would have a chance to find a forever family!

Quinn went to foster so she could adjust to living indoors. Today, she is in a beautiful, loving home, where she now can play with two kitty "brothers."

Julien

Julien came to us here at FTLC after he was abandoned outside by his previous owners. A good Samaritan brought him to our friends at Veterinary Emergency Group– and ER clinic we visit. We quickly agreed to take him.

Julien did great at his foster home, and we learned he was so sweet and loved people. He especially enjoyed watching the birds outside the window! Julien was adopted through one of our rescue partners.

Hattie + Lottie

Hattie and Lottie are sweet Siamese sisters who have captured our hearts! These beautiful souls were rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation, where over 70 cats were in desperate need of help.

Despite the challenges they faced, Lottie and Hattie are now on the road to recovery, thanks to the dedication of our For the Love of Cats team.

They received medical care, love, and lots of attention to restore their health and well-being. We're thrilled to share that they're doing remarkably well! They are currently up for adoption at one of our rescue partners.

The "Spice Litter"

Cinnamon, Rosemary, Lavender, Juniper, Basil, and Clove– these six cuties came to FTLC in need of a foster and some socialization. The spice litter is full of energy and they love to play! They did amazing with their foster, learning to be around many people and dogs. These six are currently up for adoption at one of our rescue partners, awaiting their forever homes!

Martin + Malcolm

For the Love of Cats (FTLC) welcomed two adorable 3-month-old kittens: Martin and Malcolm! These precious little bundles of fur were found by some incredibly kind-hearted individuals in Tempe, and they knew just where to bring them - to us!

Martin is the epitome of a snuggle bug! He loves nothing more than curling up in your lap, showering you with purrs and head nudges. If you're in need of some extra warmth and love, Martin is your go-to guy!

And then there's Malcolm - the life of the party! He's always on the lookout for the next toy to pounce on or the next snack to munch on. Malcolm knows how to have a good time!

These two boys are currently up for adoption at one of our rescue partners, waiting for the perfect family to scoop them up.

Layla

Layla, a three-month-old ball of joy, came to FTLC as a stray warrier, fighting her way through the challenge of life on the streets. Living in Phoenix, AZ in the summer is hard for all walks of life, especially with temperatures reaching over 110* for weeks.

We quickly took Layla in as a foster kitten, where she was able to relax and rest in the A/C.

Layla immediately adapted to life indoors, learning to socialize with children and even two large dogs! She is currently up for adoption at one of our rescue partners.
